Keonjhar: A man reportedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of the house using his wife’s saree at Ara village under Sadar police limits in Keonjhar Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Munu Mahakud (35) of Baniapat area here. Family issues are said to be the reason behind his death.
Munu, an auto driver, lived with his wife and three daughters at Ara since his mother-in-law’s demise. He reportedly had an altercation with his wife over some family issues Saturday night. Then he slept in a room with his daughters, while his wife slept in another room.
While the daughters were fast asleep, he played a song on his music system so that his screams would not go out before committing the act.
His wife realised that something adverse had happened only when her daughters started screaming.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. An investigation is underway, police sources said.
