Bhubaneswar: Three players emerged joint leaders with 4.5 points each after the completion of the fifth round in the Odisha State U-25 Chess Championships here Saturday. They are Vaibhav Mishra and Rajesh Nayak of Puri and Rakesh Kumar Nayak of Khurda.
Eleven players are sharing the joint second spot with four points each while four players are in the joint third spot with 3.5 points apiece.

15 players from the state have been selected to participate in the selection trial camp for the U-15 national football team to be conducted by All India Football Federation (AIFF) at Cuttack from August 5-15, Football Association of Odisha (FAO) announced Saturday in a statement. The selected players are Tankadhar Bag, Sanjay Murmu, Kumar Nayak, Mir Aatif Ali, Kunaram Soren, Khelaram Soren, Akash Dey, Aman Xalxo, Abinash Samal, Andrew Dehury, Sanjay Bate, Sunil Soren, Manoranjan Sundhi, Chandan Nayak and Ranjan Soren.
Animesh, Chirag bag golds
Animesh Samal and Chirag Sahoo of Cuttack clinched gold medals in the sub-junior male U-18 and U-21 categories respectively in the 33rd Odisha State Kyorugi Taekwondo Championships, which concluded at Cuttack, Saturday.
In the U-18 kg category Omm Sai Prasad of Jajpur secured the silver medal and Sangram Keshari Pal of Cuttack bagged the bronze medal. In the U-21 kg category Sai Prakash Samal of Cuttack won the silver medal.
