Bolangir: A woman was alleged to have been raped and murdered at Muribahal under Titlagarh police station Bolangir district Thursday. The lifeless body of the woman was found tied to a tree at a forest near Satabahani village naked.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
The body was initially spotted by locals in the forest this morning. Getting information about the incident the police reached the spot and recovered the body. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Police suspect that the woman was forcibly brought to the place by a group of persons and later raped and murdered. Initial investigation revealed that the she was stabbed in chest with a knife leading to her death.
