Jajpur: In a major crackdown against the rising theft and loot cases under Bari police station in this district, the police arrested five dacoits and recovered loot items worth lakhs of rupees.
The looters identified as Alok Mallick (20), Sumili Sethi (23), Debasish Mallick (22), Trilochan Mallick (19) and Balaram Mallick (20) have been forwarded to the court Sunday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, Bari police raided the premises of Vidhan Chakra Academy and nabbed the dacoit gang.
Six mobile handsets, one laptop, two LEDs, three bikes, four Ahuja machines, gold, sharp weapons, China gun and Iron air gun were seized from their possession.
