Rayagada: A youth was electrocuted and two others sustained critical injuries while they were carrying out repair work on an electric pole at Sankesh in Rayagada district Thursday.
Lalit Suna, the deceased who hailed from Tikarpada village near Muniguda, and Sujan Suna and Bijay Benia, the injured youths, were doing some repair work at a high-tension electric pole in the morning.
Lalit accidentally came in contact with an 11 KV live wire and died on the spot. Sujan and Bijay, who were assisting the victim, also suffered electric shock and fell unconscious on the spot.
The police reached the spot and rushed them to a nearby hospital.
