Bolangir: A student of the Government Polytechnic College here allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a rented house Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Behera, a final year diploma student of the college.
Source said Behera was staying in a rented house at Santipada in the district and was under stress for the last couple of days. His body was found hanging from the ceiling of the house.
While the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, Town police rushed to the spot and have started an investigation into the incident. The body has been sent for postmortem and a case of unnatural death has been registered.
