Cuttack: A person was killed Thursday after a portion of the wall of his house collapsed at Balisukri village near Kishorenagar in Cuttack district following incessant rains.
The deceased has been identified as Dinabandhu Moharana (52).
According to sources, the incident occurred early morning when Dinabandhu went to the kitchen. A portion of wall of the kitchen suddenly collapsed on him. Even though he was rushed to Raghunathpur hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, the regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department said heavy rainfall accompanied with lightning and thunderstorm is likely to lash several places in north, south and interior Odisha in the next 24 hours.
