Bargarh: A video of a girl being misbehaved by the owner of a Girls’ hostel in Gourpada area here in Bargarh district, where she resides, went viral after someone uploaded it on social media platform.
Acting on a complaint by the father of the victim, police arrested four youths in this connection.
The arrested youths have been identified as Rabinarayan Chhatar, Bimbadhar Mallick, Subodh Meher and Jagannath Chattar. A case was registered and the four were produced before the court. They were later remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected their bail pleas.
According to sources, the girl stayed in a girls’ hostel and continued her studies. Over some reason, the hostel owner allegedly misbehaved with her. Meanwhile, the four accused who were present at the site recorded the entire act and uploaded on social media platforms that went viral in no time.
“Two cases have been registered under IPC 292 and IT Act 67. We have arrested four people in connection with the case,” Inspector-in-charge Bibhuti Bhushan Bhoi said.
Meanwhile, police suspected the involvement of more persons in the case and formed a team to nab others involved in the case while a further probe was on.
