Balasore: Sahadevkhunta police here arrested two persons in connection with the murder of businessman Manas Das (40). Das was shot dead September 1.
The accused duo was identified as Raju Singh and Lapu Tudu (27) of Genguti village under Sadar police limits. Raju was arrested from Morada in Mayurbhanj district, while Lapu was apprehended in his village.
The two were produced in a court and remanded in judicial custody. The assailants were on the run after the gruesome murder.
Police had earlier arrested Prasant Behera (23) in the case. Based on Behera’s confession, the police arrested Raju and Lapu.
The police have also seized two imported cars from the duo. The incident occurred September 1 night while Das was returning home after shutting down his shop. Miscreants opened fire at him right in front of his house at Phiringipatna.
Police probe revealed that nine persons were involved in the killing. While the three have been arrested, the remaining six will be arrested soon, sub-inspector Priyatama Pradhan said.
