Papadahandi: As many as five persons of a family had a close shave with burn injuries following fire breakout due to an LPG cylinder leak in their house at Nuakote village under Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur district Saturday.
The injured persons have been identified as Jogendra Majhi, Deba Majhi, Budei Majhi, Dasami Majhi and Lachhan Dei Majhi.
As per sources, the mishap occurred when Jogendra, unaware of a gas leak, switched on the gas lighter to cook food.
A sudden fire broke out in the house and spread in the kitchen. Hearing the screams, neighbours rushed to their rescue. They were then admitted to Papadahandi community health centre (CHC).
The repeated incidents of cylinder blast and gas leakage has spread panic in the locality.
