Khurda: A girl was allegedly gang-raped and stoned to death in a quarry at Raulahaj mauja near Nirakarpur in Khurda district.
The victim was rushed to the Khurda government hospital, where the doctors declared her ‘brought dead,’ Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased is not yet known.
Locals, who spotted the girl in a critical condition, informed the police following which the cops reached the spot and rushed her to the hospital.
Police have seized a pair of footwear of the victim, two bottles of liquor and a stone which was used for the murder from the spot.
Speaking to the media, Khurda Superintendent of Police Dipti Ranjan Ray informed that two squads have been formed to investigate the incident.
One squad comprises IICs of Nirakarpur, Jankia and Tangi police stations, while the SDPO heads the other team.
