Bhadrak: A girl staged a dharna in front of her beau’s house with the body of her newborn baby boy at Jagadalpur under Rural police station in Bhadrak district Wednesday.
The girl was impregnated by her married boyfriend but the newborn baby died early Wednesday morning.
Later, she carried the infant’s body in her arms and sat on a dharna in front of the man’s house. However, the man reportedly fled the spot.
According to sources, the girl had given birth to a baby boy October 16 at a nearby hospital following which the girl’s family members lodged a complaint with Rural police against the baby’s biological father October 18.
Earlier, a village-level committee had held a discussion following which the matter was amicably settled.
During the meeting, the man had agreed to compensate the girl. Later, the matter was also settled at the police station.
However, after the death of the newborn baby, the man fled the spot.
Finding no other option, the mother sat on a dharna in front of his house.
