Gunupur: A 16-year-old youth hanged himself to death at his house in Srinivas Nagar under Gunupur police limits in Rayagada district Saturday.
According to sources, the deceased, identified as K Kali, son of K Nageswar Rao of Srinivas Nagar was found hanging with a piece of cloth. On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
Kali was an employee at Gunupur GIET college located in the area, said inspector-in-charge Rabindra Patra. While the exact cause of the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the youth might have committed suicide over love related-issue.
A case of unnatural death was registered and a probe has been launched into the incident, Sub-inspector Dhiren Pattnaik said.
