Dhenkanal: A youth had a narrow escape while clicking selfie with a herd of wild jumbos at Siminai forest under Gadasila forest section of Dhenkanal Sadar Forest Range Sunday.
The herd comprising 49 pachyderms had strayed into human settlement in the area.
When the locals were trying to drive the jumbos away from their village, a youth tried to click a selfie with a tusker.
The tusker chased him but the man escaped when it ran away towards a nearby hill after forest officials burst crackers.
Later, the jumbo herd wreaked havoc in the area following which Sadashivapur-Siminai road donned a deserted look.
