Bolangir: The owner of a make-shift beetle shop adjacent to Law College boundary wall at PP academy Chhak in Bolangir was charred to death late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj Kheti (30) of Malpada area.
According to reports, though exact reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained it is suspected that someone might have intentionally set the shop on fire over past enmity.
Meanwhile, Kanha Kheti, elder brother of the deceased person cried foul and alleged that his brother was killed by two local narcotics traders.
“There is no chance of a short-circuit in the shop. There was only one wire and a bulb in the shop. The fire was so intense that it killed him in no time. I think this is intentional,” alleged Kanha.
On being informed, police and fire service personnel along with scientific team reached the spot Wednesday. While, fire brigade doused the flames, police and scientific officials started an investigation into the incident.
Police have seized the half-charred body and sent it to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
After Kanha pointed out that the incident is a pre-planned murder, mystery continues to shroud Suraj’s death.
