Baripada: A 12-hour Baripada bandh called by Mayurbhanj Adivasi Revolutionary Youth and Students Association (MARYSA) had little impact in the town in Mayurbhanj district Friday.
The bandh is being observed from 6 o’clock in the morning. However, the town police have taken about 20 agitating activists into preventive custody at about 7.30 AM.
Despite the bandh call, vehicular movement is normal and shops, business establishments plus educational institutions are functioning as typical.
Demanding reimplementation of suspended reservation rule, preparation of files and documents of officers working in all offices in Mayurbhanj district and functional of Nicco Factory and Spinning Mill (NFSM) in the district, the bandh is called for.
