Athgarh: Adding to the death of jumbos, another female elephant was found dead in a pool of blood in Sukasan Reserve Forest near Taila village under Athagarh forest division here in Cuttack district Wednesday morning.
The jumbo is presumed to be aged about 7 years old. While the exact cause behind its death is yet to be ascertained, forest officials, after getting information, reached the spot and began an investigation.
Reportedly, a herd of elephants had wandered into the farmlands from the nearby Rajnagar Sadar’s Taila area last night in search of food. While other jumbos had left, one of the pachyderms was found lying in the middle of the field with blood oozing out of its mouth.
