Puri: The body of a youth was recovered from a drain at Gopabandhu Lane near Duttatota under Kumbharpada police limits here Monday. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body to the district headquarters hospital here for post-mortem. Prima facie, the youth had fallen into the drain in an intoxicated state.
According to sources, locals spotted the body Monday morning before they informed the cops. However, the PCR van reached the spot one hour late and Kumbharpada police reached there later.
