Sorada: As many as 60 rooms belonging to 20 families were gutted in separate incidents of fire mishaps taken place under Soroda block in Ganjam district.
At least 45 rooms of 15 families were reduced to dust by a massive fire that broke out at Sunakhandi village of Merikote panchayat yesterday evening. On being informed, fire tenders from Sorada and Dharakot reached the spot and depressed the flames.
In a similar incident, 15 rooms belonging to 5 families were gutted by a fire at Gobindpur village of Asurabandha panchayat at around 8 pm in the evening.
Several valuables and properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the blazing fire.
Two LPG cylinders also exploded under the impact of the blaze adding more flame to the lame.
