Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Tuesday directed all the departments to upload their performance reports on the websites.
Chairing the monthly secretary-level meeting at the Secretariat here, Padhi instructed the secretaries to focus on mobilisation of resources and regular updates of their programme wise performances on the web portals of the departments concerned.
He also directed the departments to avoid parking of money in any account and draw only the actual expenditure from the budget allocation. The departments were further advised to expedite disposal of litigations pending in several courts through a special drive.
The review indicated good fiscal performance by end of December during the financial year 2018-19. Budget utilisation witnessed a growth of around 26 per cent by December-end with an expenditure of Rs 39,820 crore.
Programme expenditure in social sector till December last has grown by 56 per cent over the corresponding period of 2017-18 with an expenditure of Rs 21,245 crore against the last year spending of Rs 13,912 crore.
The total expenditure in infrastructure sector has reached Rs 8,513 crore marking a growth of around 3 per cent over the corresponding period of last fiscal. The total expenditure in agriculture and allied sector was Rs 8,201 crore.
Similarly, total revenue generation went up by around 19 per cent by end of December 2018. Total revenue generation by December end of current fiscal stands at Rs 29,665 crore against the last fiscal’s (2017-18) Rs 25,023 crore.
Non-tax revenue collection has increased by 60 per cent with a total collection of Rs 8,556 crore while the revenue from own tax sources has grown by 7 per cent with total collection of Rs 21,109 crore.
Revenue generation from mining royalty and industrial water charges has increased around 70 per cent and 14 per cent respectively. The total collection from mining royalty stood at Rs 7,185 crore against last year’s Rs 4,217 crore till December-end.
Similarly, the revenue collection from industrial water use has increased to Rs 454 crore against last year’s collection of Rs 406 crore. Revenue collection from duties and electricity has also grown by 73 per cent with a total collection of Rs 2,309 crore.
