Mayurbhanj: A minor boy sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by a wild bear near Kanti Sahi under Khunta police limits in Mayurbhanj district, Monday. The victim has been identified as Subhankar Bidhani.
The incident took place Monday morning when Subhankar was participating in a feast along with his friends to celebrate the occasion of Makar Sankranti. What is surprising to note here that the youngsters had lit a bonfire on the occasion. Animals usually shy away from fire, but the bear paid no heed to the flames as it attacked the kid.
Subhankar who was badly mauled during the attack was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared that he is out of danger and in stable condition.
