Bhubaneswar: The president of Board of Secondary Education, Jahanara Begum, lodged a formal complaint with Mangalabag police Friday two days after the question papers of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) got leaked.
The exams were cancelled by the BSE immediately after the question papers went viral on social media. The BSE lodged the complaint as per the advice of the Crime Branch that requested them to lodge a formal complaint with the local police without which the investigation could not be carried out.
While speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the ongoing senior police conference in Capital, Additional Director General of Police for Crime Branch, Santosh Kumar Upadhyaya, said, “The BSE authorities have sent us a letter requesting to probe the OTET question paper leak case. We have also requested them to lodge a case at the local police station formally. We have assured them that the crime branch will provide all kinds of technical support and assistance. We will monitor the case and try to solve it at the earliest.”
The question papers of the OTET exams went viral on social media during the first sitting (from 10 am to 12.30 pm) of the exam January 16 at around 250 centers across the state. Later, the Board cancelled the second sitting examination which was scheduled to be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm until further notification.
