Rasola/Satamail: A tusker ran amok and trampled a woman to death in the Hindol range of Dhenkanal district, Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Bhasini Samal (43), wife of Sanatan Samal of Bedapada.
This was the second elephant attack casualty in the locality in the last three days. Due to frequency of the attacks, locals are now panic-stricken.
Bhasini along with others had gone to relieve herself when the animal emerged from its cover and attacked them. Trying to escape, Bhasina fell down and was trampled to death by the rampaging animal.
