Khurda: Bombs were hurled at the residence of a lawyer at Jemadei area here late Wednesday.
According to sources, some miscreants had allegedly put fire to a pile of garbage near Satyakam Mohapatra’s house around 11.30 pm. Around 1.10 am they hurled five bombs at the lawyer’s house and fled the spot. Some parts of the house sustained damages.
Satyakam lodged a complaint with Khurda model police against Suchitra Mohapatra, Nisha Mohapatra and Surath Dalbehera. Satyakam believes that they are involved in this matter as the lawyer has some past enmity with them.
Police have registered a case (20/19) under Sections of 307, 294, 506, 427, 34 of IPC and began an investigation.
Meanwhile, the Khurda Bar Association stopped work in court in protest of the incident.
