Try not to skip breakfast
There is no doubt in the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast helps kickstart of your day. Even if you are extremely late for work, never ever skip your breakfast. Make a habit of eating your breakfast within an hour of waking up as it’ll keep your metabolism in pace.
Avoid bulk meals
Our body is a machine; it requires regular fueling just as our vehicles. Eating in bulk makes our metabolism slow as the body is not able to digest the amount of food given to it at once. Just to avoid this situation, one should have small meals six times a day. This will help your metabolism get going and keep you energetic throughout the day.
Choose your plates smartly
It might sound ludicrous, but picking your plates right can actually help you monitor your diet. Using small dishes can help you reduce your intake by 20 per cent. Serving your food in bigger plates can make your food look less and thus incite you to eat more.
Water consumption
It’s not surreptitious that we should drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. But how many of us actually follow it? Hardly a few. Even if you follow this regime, when to drink water is also equally important. Mid-meal drinking of water can slow down the process of digestion, restraining nutrient absorption. Instead, try drinking water 15 minutes post or prior to your meal for increasing metabolism.
Avoid overcooking food
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with a number of nutrients. Over washing or overcooking reduces the nutrient content by killing or washing away essential nutrients. Due to inadequate nutrient supply, you are left unsatisfied. This induces junk food cravings. To tackle this, eat steamed, baked, blanched or grilled vegetables or meat, helping you optimally consume the nutrients foods have.
Keep snacks concealed
Keeping unhealthy foods out of sight can actually help you lose weight. Whenever you see those unhealthy snacks, you unknowingly crave for them. As a result of those cravings, you end up putting those snacks in your mouth, inducing weight gain. To avoid this situation, it is advised to keep them simply out of sight.
