Rairangpur (Mayurbhanj): Suspected short-circuit triggered fire in an ATM kiosk located at Bahalda Bazaar under Rairangpur police in Mayurbhanj district, Monday noon.
According to reports, the fire broke out at around 2 pm. Some locals spotted thick smoke billowing out of the ATM counter of Axis Bank and alerted the fire department.
Fire brigade reached the spot and doused the blaze. On being asked, the firemen said that they suspected the fire erupted due to short-circuit in the air-conditioner, which has been damaged in the fire.
Meanwhile, the Branch Manager of Axis Bank in Rairangpur informed that the ceiling of the ATM kiosk and the teller machine has been damaged in the inferno, but the cash inside it was found to be intact.
On intimation, Rairangapur police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
