Bhawanipatna: Five passengers in a van had a close shave after the vehicle went up in flames on Amapani ghat road under Koksara block in Kalahandi district Monday.
The passengers jumped out of the moving van and escaped death. The van caught fire allegedly due to a short-circuit in its engine. Fire personnel from Koksara and Amapani police reached the spot and doused the flames.
The incident occurred when a Tata Magic Safari van carrying five passengers from Dengaguda in Mahima panchayat of the block was on its way to Kelia in Nabarangpur district. The engine suddenly caught fire. Police started an investigation into the incident.
