Rourkela: Dreaded dacoit Anil Tirkey was injured in an encounter with police at Rutukipidhi-Chikatchandi forest road near Brahmani Tarang in Rourkela Sunday night.
Anil, who suffered bullet injury on his knee, was admitted at Ispat General Hospital.
Being tipped off that Anil was preparing a blue print for robbery, a police team conducted raids at Rutukipidhi-Chikatchandi forest road.
In a bid to escape, Anil opened fire at the police and they retaliated. In the exchange of fire, Anil suffered a bullet injury on his knee.
