Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who seem to be eager to enlarge the party base in the state, are queuing up to take advice from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat who is in the Capital city.
While Bhagwat has been camping in the city since December 11, several leaders including three Union ministers — Dharmendra Pradhan (petroleum), Jual Oram (tribal affairs) and Najma Heptullah (minority affairs) have met him so far.
Sunday, Pradhan, Oram, BJP state president KV Singhdeo and several other members and leaders of the party had been closeted with the RSS chief.
Their talks assume significance in view of the visit of BJP national president Amit Shah, January 6 and 7.
According to sources, the state BJP unit is planning to organise four big rallies in different parts of the state to make people aware of the Modi government and party ideology. Sources said, Bhagwat has advised leaders to make the ongoing scams and corruption in the state an agenda to win hearts of people in the state. Besides, sources said, Bhagwat’s visit to the state is a key to strengthening the Sangh in Orissa.
Though BJP leaders have called on the RSS chief at his camp in Mancheswar here, no leader is ready to talk about the possible discussion they have had with Bhagwat.
“Minutes of Sangh meetins are not disclosed,” said Oram to the media, adding, “Preparatory meeting for Amit Shah’s visit was held Saturday in the presence of the party state president.”
