Bhubaneswar: With increase in flow of funds for deserving entrepreneurs from financial institutions and with the forthcoming of voluntary organisations, booming in the business sector has now come far from the obstacles of geo-location and fund crunch.
Several rural entrepreneurs are now making their presence felt in the arena with their virtues and determination. Similar is the tale of Lalita Debi, a young widow from the Amlabhata village in the Rayagada district of the state who triumphed over her problems to become a successful rural entrepreneur despite challenges galore.
Lalit who was left to face hardships of her life after the demise of her husband at an early age decided to fight and carve out her own niche. Undeterred by the obstacle, she jumped onto the bandwagon of becoming a business woman and started her own venture in rural area.
After researching on the prospects of paper plate business in her close vicinity she decided to take up the responsibility of handling the business and also trying to a fillip to it so that she can also employ others in the area with her business. With the mentorship from the Bharaitiya Yuva Shakti Trust and with the encouragement from financial institutions with business loans, she started her journey and never looked back.
Lalita started her business with a loan of Rs 2.5 lakhs few years back but now she is the proud owner of a paper plates manufacturing unit at Raygada. Not only she carved out her own path, she now also employs seven other women into her business and mulling to expand her business.
She said, “It seems my circumstances provoked me to become an entrepreneur and I decided my own destiny. Now entrepreneurship is not limited to the rich only. With proper support and determination one with a strong will power can become a successful entrepreneur,”
Within a short duration of time, the leader was able to generate profits from her business and was able to live a dignified life against the far cry from her days of struggle to earn even Rs 500 per day.
