Bhubaneswar, May 28: Noted Oriya director Sabyasachi Mohapatra, speaking at a seminar on event management held in the city Thursday, said most of the technicians working in the film industry in Mumbai hail from Orissa.
The seminar was organised by FAME, a firm that imparts training in event management in Orissa.
“Most technicians working in Bollywood hail from Orissa,” revealed the director, adding it is an indication of the diverse range of career choices today’s youngsters can choose from.
“Times have changed drastically. There are now many professions open for talented, deserving candidates, something that we lacked in our time. Now, youngsters have the freedom of joining the profession they love and the young generation should get the benefits of this change,” said the director renowned for his contribution to new wave cinema in Orissa.
The event also saw noted Oriya anchor and actor Gungun taking part in the event. “I started my professional career as an Odissi dancer. Later, I began taking up anchoring and film assignments. I’ve seen many of my friends getting into other professions. I request the youth to listen to their heart and make a career in the field they love,” Gungun said.
