Puri, June 19: Vowing stringent action against servitors found to be responsible for the unprecedented delay in the Brahma Paribartan ritual of the presiding deities of Srimandir, Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief Suresh Mohapatra said notices have been served on the Daitapati Niyog, four Badagrahis, 10 Biswakarmas, two advisers, the Deulakarana, the Chadhaukarana and the ‘commander’ servitor.
Action as per Section 21 of the Sri Jagannath Temple Act would be taken against those found guilty, Mohapatra said.
“We will examine the reports thoroughly as and when the reports reach us. Each of the servitors will be asked to give their versions in person one at a time as to what caused the delay in the crucial ritual,” Mohapatra added.
As per the Act, action can be initiated against a person even without issuing a show-cause notice. To this, Mohapatra said, “There are several versions coming to light. We have to analyse the facts at hand before reaching a conclusion.”
Meanwhile, Lord Sudar-shan’s Badagrahi Nabakishore Pati Mohapatra and Lord Balabhadra’s Badagrahi Haladhar Dasmohapatra were asked by the SJTA to depose before it June 21 and present their statements.
