Jajpur: Acting on a tip-off, Dharmasala police in Jajpur district Monday busted a sex racket at a rented house in Jaraka as it rescued a sex worker and arrested six persons including two pimps.
The accused persons were identified as Soumyashree Jena and Rabindra Jena, two pimps and Mahendra Mallick, Lipu Mallick, Balaram Sethy – three customers. The mastermind Ratnaprabha Pani, a woman deserted by her husband, was also arrested. A sex worker was also rescued during the raid.
According to reports, two pimps along with a woman had been operating a sex racket at a rented house owned by Arun Jena at Jagannath Vihar area in Jaraka under Dharmasala police limits since a long time.
The Dharmasala police, on directive by Jajpur SDPO Kedarnath Sahoo, raided the house and managed to nab all the accused persons.
Along with several objectionable articles, the police seized a car, two bikes, one scooter, and 7 mobile phones used in the illegal trade from the spot. The accused persons have been produced in court while the woman sex worker was sent to a short-stay home, Dharmasala IIC Saroj Kumar Sahu said.
