Bhubaneswar: The police Tuesday arrested four persons from the Laxmisagar locality of this city for their alleged involvement in setting up an illegal edible oil manufacturing unit. The cops however, refused to disclose the identities of those nabbed.
Acting on tip-off about the adulterated oil manufacturing unit, police conducted a surprise raid and seized around 2000 litres of adulterated edible oil stocked in containers. The containers had labels of various reputed companies.
During the search, police discovered stocks of adulterated and sesame oil, ghee of various branded companies.
The police have already launched a probe and the interrogation of the four arrested persons has started.
It should be stated here that August 29; the Commissionerate Police busted another fake edible oil manufacturing unit in Champakuda area of Phulnakhara and detained two persons. Police seized more than 30,000 litres of adulterated edible oil during the raid.
