Bolangir: In separate tragic incidents, a couple and a youth were electrocuted Tuesday in this district.
In the first incident, the couple was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a live electric wire in Agalpur village under Loisinga police limits early Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Hemant Nag and his wife Rajani.
According to the locals, Rajani was busy putting up clothes to dry when she accidentally came in contact with a live wire. In a bid to rescue her, Hemant also suffered electric shocks leading to their untimely demise.
In the second incident at Kantabanji block under Muribahal police limits Tuesday morning a youth while trying to save his sister got electrocuted and fell unconscious. Locals rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
The identity of the youth is yet to be ascertained.
