Bhubaneswar: Most of the matches played in the 17th Nalco Cup State hockey championships at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, turned out to be one-sided affairs, Friday.
There were five matches played on the day. Only the game between Bargarh and SMS Sambalpur was a close and exciting affair with the latter winning 5-3.
In the other games played, Cuttack defeated Dhenkanal 7-0, RSP Rourkela beat Jagatsinghpur by an identical margin, Odisha Police thrashed Kandhamal 6-0 while Sports Hostel (Rourkela) trounced Ganjan 7-1.
In fact the motley of spectators who were present at the Barabati Stadium got to witness a goal rush in all the games.
