Bargarh: During a routine checking at Nakapost in Barpali area in this district late Thursday night, police seized Rs 19 lakh cash from a car. The checks were being carried out keeping in mind the by-poll to the Bijepur Assembly constituency, October 21.
Police sources said that the car belongs to Chhattisgarh-based businessman Parag Agrawal., Police detained Parag for interrogation.
Sources said that during interrogation, Parag, who is the owner of a rice mill has told the police that the money was being taken for ‘business purposes’.
Police have deposited the money with Barpali BDO Satya Narayan Meher and allowed Parag to go with his vehicle. However, they are still probing into the matter.
