Patna: An elderly man’s body was found hanging from a tree in a forest near Jamunalia village under Kantiapada panchayat of Patna block in Keonjhar district Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 80 years old Krushna Chandra Mahakud of Jamunalia village.
Some villagers first spotted the body while they had gone to the jungle to collect firewood. They identified it as Krushna and immediately informed the deceased’s family members.
He is said to have committed suicide after losing his mental balance over some issues. That said, the exact cause that led him to take the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for postmortem. The cops have registered an unnatural death case and have launched an investigation.
