Bargarh: The flying squad Saturday seized Rs3.5 lakh from a vehicle during a routine check at Sarandapali square under Barpali block. The amount was seized from a Bolero bearing registration OD14 D4790.
However, the squad did not find any election-related material from the vehicle. The amount was seized from Sanjeeb Dash of Sindipur of Sindurpur village in Boudh district. As the cash seized exceeded Rs 50,000, it will be dealt by Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell.
The amount has been seized and deposited in the district treasury. Earlier, Rs 19 lakh had been seized from Barpali area.
