Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: Amrutjay Mohanty of Orissa emerged champion in the boys’ U-12 AITA Championship Series tennis tournament, beating Hasith Srujan Gummuluru of Andhra Pradesh in the final at the Union Club in Berhampur, Monday.
Second seed Amrutjay trounced top seed Srujan 6-1, 6-3 to clinch the title. He played really well and never really allowed his much illustrious opponent to settle down.
In the doublessegment, Hasith and Dhrub Advaith of Andhra Pradesh defeated Amrutjay and Abhishek Mohapatra of Orissa 4-1, 4-1 to bag the title.
