Bhadrak: A pregnant mother gave birth to triplets while travelling Friday on the Bangalore-Guwahati Express. However, later in the day, the newborn babies died at the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
Fellow passengers informed that the woman identified Manjula Khatun is from Assam. She complained of labour pain Friday morning. Before her fellow passengers could help her she delivered the three babies.
When the train stopped at Bhadrak station, the woman and her babies were rushed to the hospital. However, the babies died while being treated. Manjula however is stable, hospital authorities said.
Railway officials said that Manjula’s family has been informed about the development.
