Bhogarai, Dec 28: A sprawling nine-km sea beach at Talsari, shrines of Lord Chandaneswar and Bhusandeswar,
cacophony of sea birds are some of the
assets of Bhogarai block for which scores of tourists are attracted to the place.
With the onset of winter, migratory birds and tourists continue to head for Bhogarai. Domestic and foreign tourists find the sprawling beach at Udaypur and Talseri enjoyable.
A fishing jetty is there at the river mouth of Subarnarekha and in its front is a small island, known as Subarnapur Dipa. The island is one of the major tourist draws in the area. At twilight, the sight of red crabs scooting in thousands amid the cacophony of a variety of sea birds, is something no tourist would want to miss. The skyline and beach teem with lakhs of birds from as far as Siberia, China, Tibet, Mangolia and the Himalayan region. It is a veritable delight for ornithologists. Tourists from America, Japan, Finland, France and Germany are usually found moving about in the area.
A Panthniwas is in the vicinity so that tourists can stay in comfort. Many hotels have also come up in peripheral areas. The place is well connected by road and rail from Jaleswar and Digha in West Bengal.
