Bhubaneswar: The state Health and Family Welfare department Friday issued an advisory to medical officers and private doctors to reduce chances of getting infected or prevent spread of infection in their clinics.
The state has asked the doctors to encourage use of PPE kits while at clinics and also they were asked to abide by the government norms of disinfection and sanitization of their working area.
The government said the guidelines should be strictly adhered to by medical practitioners who are pursue professional practice in their own chambers or in private setups like nursing homes, polyclinics and private clinics.
The government has asked private practioners to have separate fever clinic and isolation facilities. It had also asked them to ensure hand washing facilities, availability of hand sanitizer and masks are used by patients and hospital staff.
The doctors have also been asked to sterilize blood pressure instruments, stethoscope, thermometers and any other touch points after every single use.
Private clinic operators and nursing homes have been asked to direct patients of fever, respiratory disorders and persons coming from hotspot areas to nearest government hospital or private COVID Hospitals. The government has entrusted upon doctors to ensure use of masks and sanitization of patients up to the medical practitioners.
Doctors have been asked to encourage use of posters and other visual mediums to create awarenesson COVID 19. All doctors have been asked to maintain a register of entries of all patients in the clinic.
