Jajpur: Two persons were killed in a road mishap near Saheri Cottage under Panikoili police limits in Jajpur district Tuesday morning.
Sources said, a goods truck, after losing control, hit a motorist Samir Jena near Saheri Cottage in the district. The motorist died at the spot after getting grievous injuries in his head.
Panicking after the incident, the truck driver was trying to make a desperate attempt to flee from the spot by crossing the road hastily when a car coming from the opposite direction ran over him killing him on the spot.
The car driver reported the mishap to the police. On being informed police reached at the spot and seized the two bodies including the truck. Police have sent the two bodies for post-mortem and have started an investigation into the matter.
