Cuttack, Jan 1: Professor Prakash Chandra Sarangi Thursday assumed the charge of Ravenshaw University vice-chancellor.
Varsity employees greeted Sarangi with bouquets after he reached the campus. Sarangi held discussions with teaching and non-teaching staff and called upon the employees to take every possible step to make the varsity an ideal education hub. Besides, he stressed on research studies in the university.
With large number of lecturers’ posts lying vacant at the varsity, Sarangi said steps would be taken to recruit quality manpower in the vacant posts. That apart, plans are afoot to begin the work for second Ravenshaw campus at the earliest, Sarangi said.
Students having poor attendance would not be allowed to sit the examinations. Indiscipline of any kind would not be entertained, Sarangi said, adding he too would look after hostel problems.
“Being a student of Ravenshaw, I will leave no stones unturned in making my Alma Mater an internationally acclaimed university by using my experience”, Sarangi told the mediapersons.
