Bhubaneswar: A flat at Satya Sai Apartments near Chintamaniswar temple under Laxmisagar police limits was burgled late Saturday night. Police detained three men in connection with the burglary.
While about 20 families live in the apartment building, none seems to have noticed anything abnormal, said police sources. A security guard of the apartment building, who was detained by police, said the occupant of the flat that was burgled has claimed that assets and cash worth `8 lakh was looted from the flat. The guard said the occupant was on vacation when the robbery happened.
“I usually go to bed after 1 am. I have no idea as to what happened after I slept,” said the security guard. Two other men detained by police worked as maintenance staff at the apartment building. Police suspect that they might have connived with the robbers. Police, however, did not reveal details about the case and said an investigation is on.
