Patrapur: In a shocking incident, a youth killed a woman before killing himself over a love affair at Puhundi village under Jarada police limits in Ganjam Saturday.
The deceased woman was identified as Laxmi Gouda (35) while the deceased youth was identified as Amar Pati (28) of Nuagaon area.
According to police, Laxmi is married, but she had developed an affair with the youth a few days go.
As the matter became public, Laxmi and her husband had bitter quarrels.
In the wee hours, the woman had gone to Bagi river to bathe, but she did not return home.
Later, some villagers found Laxmi’s body in a pool of blood under a mango tree. Police seized the body and started an investigation with sniffer dogs. Police registered a case.
Later, police found the body of the youth near Ichhapur railway track. Police said, the youth had killed the women before killing himself on the rail track.
