Keonjhar: In a horrific incident, a 10-year-old boy allegedly hacked Friday his mother to death at Uparbarada village under Nayakote police limits in Keonjhar district. The entire development has left the residents of the village shocked. Most of them have turned aghast at the gruesome murder. The deceased has been identified as Muga Santa.
Sources said that the kid had been pestering his mother for the last few days to give him money for a new dress which he spotted at a shop. Each time, he asked for the money, the boy’s mother refused.
The development angered the boy and he decided to kill his mother. He attacked her with an axe Friday and hacked her repeatedly. Muga died on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police also initiated an investigation into the gruesome alleged murder.
The boy was taken to the police station where currently he is being questioned in connection with the incident. Police said that the boy will be produced Saturday before the Juvenile Justice Board.
