Mumbai: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis who was tipped to be the next chief minister of Maharashtra however, has opted out from the race. Devendra Fadnavis said Thursday that rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde will be the next chief minister of Maharashtra.
“Eknath Shinde will be sworn in as Maharashtra chief minister at 7.30 pm today,” Fadnavis told reporters. “The BJP including me will not be part of the Eknath Shinde-led ministry. However, we will support it from outside,” Fadnavis added.
