Chitrakonda: In a bid to effectively deal with malnutrition among children and pregnant women, the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department has launched ‘Nutrition at Doorsteps’ initiative in Malkangiri Saturday.
Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain inaugurated the project at Jantapai village under Chitrakonda block. A millets procurement centre was also opened at Jantri panchayat.
Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture and Food Production Prem Chandra Chaudhary and Director of Horticulture Rohit Kumar Lenka among others were present on the occasion.
The ‘Nutrition at Doorsteps’ initiative has been aligned with the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to provide nutrition-based food security to people throughout the state.
